One misconception of Denver is that it snows here all the time. With over 1,000 peaks in the state that are over 2 miles above sea level, we certainly do get some snow here (though mostly in the mountains). What people don’t realize is that Denver records an average of 300 days of sunshine per year. It’s hard to believe, but that’s more than San Diego or Miami Beach! The sunshine, the snow (which acts as a reflector), along with our high elevation, also provides Colorado with one of the highest skin cancer rates in the nation. When you come visit us, be sure to wear some sunscreen!
